Noma Jean Carter

Noma Jean Carter was a friend, mother, grandmother and when she became a great grandmother, she was moved to tears.

She had moved with her parents from Wisconsin to Pilot Rock, Oregon as a child and met her future husband, Russell J. Carter in high school. They both moved to Hawaii while Dad was in the Service where Peggy, the first of three was born. Once Dad left the service they returned to Oregon where he completed college. It was here that Ken was born and then Julie. Mother took on work outside of the home as well as doing all the motherly tasks at home. Moving from Washington to Idaho as Dad grew in his career in Planning, mother adapted well to each new town and got the family acquainted with the local Presbyterian churches. Upon returning to Washington where Mom and Dad retired, she enjoyed volunteering at the Everett Assistance League and had many wonderful friends. Her endearing personality and thoughtfulness shined bright while volunteering and within the Mountain View Presbyterian church in Marysville.

Dad passed in October 2019 prior to the COVID pandemic. Mother passed on Sept. 18th, 2023 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. It was our father that gave us discipline and mother kept the family and future spouses together thru her love, caring and fortitude she displayed until her last breath. We are grateful for all the time we had with Mom (age 89) and Dad (age 87), and our hearts are still mourning to this day.
