PENDLETON - Longtime resident Jack E. Wasson, 82, of Pendleton died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, in Pendleton. Private family inurnment will be held at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.

Mr. Wasson was born April 24, 1926. He worked in the auto and machinery parts and repair business for more than 40 years. He served in the Navy in World War II.

He was known as the man with the "Black Book"; if he didn't know how to get it, "it didn't exist." He enjoyed his friends at the Rainbow coffee clatch, the PGG coffee clatch, his golf buddies, and his friends at the Juniper Canyon Golf Tournament. He was a hunter, fisherman and golfer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wasson of Pendleton; sons Mike Wasson of Pendleton and Dick Wasson of San Diego, Calif.; daughters Peggy McCall of Hermiston and Nancy Gooding of Springvale North, Victoria, Australia; seven grand- children; and five great-grandchildren.
