Thomas Clayton Branstetter
October 16, 1929--January 12, 2016

Thomas "Tom" Clayton Branstetter, 86, of Pendleton died January 12, 2016 at a local care facility. Visitation will be held from 12--4:30 on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22 at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. A reception will be held at the Pendleton Eagles Lodge immediately following the service.

Tom was born October 16, 1929 in Pendleton to William J. Bryan and Daphna (Milliron) Branstetter. He graduated from Pendleton High School and attended Oregon State University. He served in the Navy and Navy Reserve. On March 14, 1969, he married Betty Pedro in Pendleton. He was employed by Umatilla County for 25 years as a weed supervisor. He also worked as a farmer at Stage Gulch in Pendleton.

He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Elks Local 288, the Eagles Lodge, Royal Arch Mason, Eastern Oregon Commandery #6 Knights Templer, Local #560 American Federation of Musicians and the Oregon Wheat League.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Branstetter of Pendleton; daughters, Moneta (Dan) Woollard of La Grande, Teresa (Dennis) Fine of Helix, Sarah (Dave) Chappel of Hood River; grandchildren, Monica (Jose) Erice, Tom (Salena) Fine, Melissa (Caleb) Sampson, Doug (Arsha) Fine, Danny (Chrissy) Woollard; 12 great-grandchildren and brother Gib Branstetter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
