Obituary
Susan Lois (Wagner) Esselstyn
June 4, 1954--July 25, 2023
Susan Louis (Wagner) Esselstyn passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1954, to Don and June (Spalinger) Wagner in Spokane, Washington.
Sue spent her early life growing up with four brothers near Farmington, Washington; Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and Sandpoint, Idaho. Her family moved to Pendleton in the 1970s. She graduated from the Walla Walla Community College nursing program in 1976.
After spending some time working and traveling, she then went to Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tennessee, where she graduated in 1981 with a bachelor of science in nursing. After graduating, she worked as a nurse in Hood River, Oregon, until she moved back to Pendleton in 1989 to care for her mother who had Parkinson's. She always enjoyed the one-on-one interaction and care of nursing and knowing that she was helping someone in need.
On Nov. 21, 2005, she married Ron Esselstyn and they shared many happy years and adventures together. She was a woman with a strong will and a strong trust in her God and Lord Jesus. She always knew what she wanted but was willing to accept God's plan for her life.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon.
Arrangments are with Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop. Online condolences may be shared at www.pioneerchapel.com
